2 of the 21 locks on the Wigan Flight.

Wigan Top Lock to Worsley - John joins.

We waited as usual till about 9 am, but no signs of any other boats, so we set of down the locks. We didn't see any other boats following, but met one coming up, near the bottom, who asked how much further to go up? ah ah

Met the grass cutting gang, who seemed to be cutting the grass at the same speed as we were going down through the locks, (and kept being just in the wrong place when needing to get off the boat, the mower was always where you wanted to step down!!!)

Another sun shine day, Josh was full of energy, bouncing and skipping around doing the locks, besides doing the locks we were in, he was running a head and getting the next lock ready, then running back to finish operating the lock the boat was in, so we made good time to the bottom.

We moored at the junction, to wait John's arrival by train, and me and Josh went in search of a cash machine and some basic ration's for the boat.

One of Josh's friends tuned up, so we all had lunch, while we waited, but John's bus to the train had been delayed, causing him to be running late, so we set of towards Worsley and Manchester, and tackle the final two locks leaving Wigan.

We moored up just after the last lock, to await John, who arrived sweating and hot, with a large rucksack.

We gave John, a quick snack and a drink and pushed off. On approaching Leigh we dropped Josh's friend of (with cycle) and continued on to Worsley, where we managed to find a space to moor up for the night at about 19:15 in the evening.

An enjoyable evening meal was had, and we all went exploring around the village, (can you really call it that.)
