It nestles into to the cliffs with it's litle harbour. The town climbs the steep cliffs to the summits, with the monastry on one side and the stories of Dracula to keep the tourist happy.
Visits
We have come here several times, we once came for aweek by train? a whole day travelling, you go right up north, and then get a rickety train back south again.
We have a few images when Sue and I came to Whitby in 2005, while we were staying just out side Scarborough at Cober Hill.
