The canal ploughs through the middleof the village, when it was first built it must caused havoc with the local population. There is a aqueduct over the main road through the town and a swing bridge on the other side of the village. The canal cuts through the graveyard of the local church with it having a footbridge to join the two parts together.
For modern visiters there is a very pleasant pub and when we first went serving some nice light lunches.
