About Ambleside
Ambleside is ideally located in the centre of the Lake District. The town is situated at the North end of Windermere Lake and at the foot of the poular scenic route over Kirkstone Pass. It's location and idyllic scenery make it an ideal base for visitors to explore the national park. (from GoLakes.co.uk)
I have memories of comming here on holiday with Sue when camping in a 2 man tent? (titchy tent, massive car.) and other memories of coming here with the children, but they seem a long time ago.
We came to Ambleside in 2007, when going with a group to Glenthorne the Quaker guest house for a long weekend.
