Somerset is my fathers family home.Before the war they lived in Nailsea, not that far from Clevdon, just inland. His family before the wat lived in a one up, one down terraced house with no running anything. Access to the upper room was by ladder. There was a single tap outside for the terrace and they had the luxery of a double toilet down the garden, (There were two holes in the plank so two could sit down at once.)
During this period dad had a motorbike and would drive into Bristol as he was working on the docks there.
