Year 2016
has been cancelled. . .
The family
Over Christmas and the new year we waited for news about the possibility of Sue having cancer. In the first week of January we visited Airedale Hospital and Sue was told the bad news. Sue asked me to be strong for her, so I was. Within two weeks she started treatement, but life was never going to be the same again. Everything came to stop. In the first few months in someways we could carry on, but as time went on, possibilities became less and less, and more people had to be told the news. Sue always endevoured to do it in away that would couse them the least upset to them. (She always remained in controll of every thing right to the end.) She enjoyed her birthday at the ashram in August but she passed away the next month in Manorlands. It is surprising how many pictures there are of Sue, smilling during this year, perticularly as she did not like having her picture taken.
The pub opposit the railway station in Haworth, the bridge parapit also was washed away.
January
After the mayhem and a roller coster ride of emotions, things start to settle down to a known journey, no idea where the destination is, but we are moving, things are happening, and life goes on.

February
The high light of the month was definetly Charlie and his parents coming up, it worked wonders for Sue, especialy in having Charlie around as he ment so much to her. We went to Embasay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, which is only a small Heritage line but one we had not been to before. It worked out so well, especialy the leek and potatoe soup for all, I think we drained there soup pot for them. They were also not expecting so many visiters that day, not sure why? But generaly it was a good day.

March
Sue was still able to drive at this stage and get around and you can see we were still going on visits to different places. And again Charlie was up with his parents to visit us. The main place we went to was for a walk around St. Ives.

May
This month there several things happening, Sue pushing for me to go and do things and to have more interests. To find more toys for Charlie to play with when he comes up, (and for me to do the finding to take my mind of things.) Thirdly for Sue to keep active as possible, so we did go down to Nottingham to see Henry and Ivis for a few days, but we did have to cut it short and come home early. Dawn had her new windows put in over the last few months, but I don't think ever managed to see them!

July
We go to the meetings open garden, and take John and Charlie and his parents as well, we are all there, something Sue had wanted to manage for a while, so very, very important to her, you can see this in her grinning! Mike and Denny come up and see us and we all go to Dick Hudson to eat, you can see how well Sue is still feeling.

September
Sue died at the end of this month, enough said. Half way through the month John was on a weekend away with Richard and Ivis in Wales, when it was decieded to have Sue checked at Airedale Hospital, we spent two hours there in A & E, but most of that time was taken in waiting to see if a bed could be found in Manalands the local hospice. Fortunatly one was found and we were taken up and made to feel at home straight away. I left Sue in the evening to go through more things with the doctor, and I spent the night by my self. The next day we got in touch with John who was on the way back from Wales to left him know what was happening, so they diverted towards Manchester to pick Henry up and then come over to us. So that evening every one was with us. Sue eventualy passed away at tea time on the 28th.

October
Sue's cremation and two services of remembrance for her. Family take me out, try to take my mind of things. Sue had organised one service of remembrance her self, the other was a Friends Meeting for worship. Every thing was organised by friends, I didn't need to do anything. At the end of the month, me and John went out for our normal Fish and Chips to celebrate our birthdays, this year we went to Morcombe, (where do you go for your fish and chips?)

December
At the begining of the month I put the house up for sale, (Absolutly no interest, so after a few months I took it down.) This Christmas was cancelled as far as I was concerned at I stayed at home and was quite for it. John was back with Richard for the new year and we went out exploring Yorkshire.
