Year 2018
You never say goodbye in your heart, but life can cary on.
The end of a year - On the River Trent near Beeston Lock
The year
The year started cold and wet and icey/slush/snow sort of wat, the cold hanging around right into April. For some reason the sun decieded to come out when we buried Sue's ashes in April for us. This seemed to give us amazing colours through out the summer and I did escape from Keighley as well down to go down south as well as meet up with family. The year ended like the beginning, very wet and cold, with many rivers being near flood levels.

January
At the beginning of the month, John took us over to Hebden Bridhe and in one of the old fashion music shops they were also serving coffee and food which was good. In the middle of the month I had been in Leeds and came back to Keighley with out the slightest problem, but keighley was being hit badley by snow, but what was fun (as a public transport user!) was that cars could go up the hills ok, but couldn't come back down, even your four by four was no help to you, if not even a bigger problem due to the weight. But it was soon gone again.

February
February continues where January left off with more bits of fluffy white stuff coming down. I carry on being involved with the Tuesday Group and they go out for a meal on one of the Fridays.

March
March starts with snow and then a bit more and more, never to deep but enough. As April gets closer the weather slowly improves. There seems to be no let up in haveing coffee and cake in interesting places, fun on the Manchester trams seems to be in order this month, beside visiting steam loco to Keighley.

April
April is Sue's month, we take her ashes to Colthouse burial ground near Hawkeshead in Cumbria. We had visited there exactly two years to the day before she died and besides it was her wish. In fact we had talked about this when we were there and decied it would be a good place. Hmmm I think one or two other things happened over the month but do look at Rachels, Josh and Charlie's little caravan! Besides that the month went on.

May
May seems to be about blossom and blooms! Just trying to get pictures of this and that! Also about going to the dentist! but we won't talk about that. I seem to be down on the ground this month (at least it is dry ) trying (but failing) to take INTERESTING pictures of the ground. I keep thinking I might improve.

June
June is visiting the old, going to Castleshaw and Dovedale. Something new in visiting Emily's and that was very tasty, as well as visiting the Silent Inn in Stanbury with the Tuesday Group. The familiar was in going to Saltaire and Hebden Bridge.

July
July is travelling to Beeston to see Ivis and Henry and then on to Malvern to see a friend of Sue's then spending a weekend of Yoga and then back to stay with Rachel, Josh and Charlie, before going back home. Later in the month as part of the meeting we had "Riding for Equality and the Common Good" come through and a couple stayed with us.

August
I think my phone camera had a fit, there are not many pictures this month. I don't have any other months with so few pictures! My diary says I did go out and do things, meet people and generaly was active, the gremlins must have them?

Boats in Skipton ( with Dawn in the dock to have solar panals put on), beside the usual coffees etc. Quite alot of getting around this month overal.

November
We selebrate two birthdays this month, John's who had his at the end of the last month and mine. The tradition is that we go out for Fish and Chips, this goes back to when Sue had her birthday when we were travelling in Wales on a motorbike in heavey rain. It was her birthday and we stopped and at transport cafe for fish and chips and it felt so good after being in the rain, not saying we were wet, but I took my boots off! and just poured the water out. So it's fish and chips on birthdays! See where we had them this year. While Richard is up we go up to North Yorkshire and Grassington and the dales. There is the start of Christmas in Hebden Bridge with the lights going on and further hints of Christmas with flurries of snow on the moors going to Hebden Bridge.

December
The month is inclined to be wet, dark and generaly misarble, perhaps just how December should be. So there was a modern interpritation of a Torch light perrade up Howarth cobbled high street, with frequent stops for music and entertainment. Groups having pre-christmas celebrations and Going down to Ivis's and Henry's for the actual celebrations.
