Year 2020
a year of pestalance?.
Bus terminus, Thwaites Brow.
We started the year with rain, followed by yet more rain and then it just kept raining and we had floods and floods and floods. You get the picture! It is only March and now we have The Great Isolation! The whole country has to lock them selves away and not go near any one? Shops, cafes, restruants, pubs - you name it have all closed down. Fun has been banned, enjoyment is a punashable crime. Only food is allowed to be brought, but no cash is allowed, you can only tap!!! The world has gone virtual - Skype to see your mummy - Skype to see your children. Tired of that you can always have a virtual night out and Zoom all your friends! Oh well, what will the rest of the year bring?

January
The year starts of very, very wet, especialy in the next valley where Hebden Bridge is. This is about the fourth time since we have been up here that parts of the town have been flooded. They are starting to pick them selves up again. Go to St. Aidens in Leeds with Quakers In Yorkshire and see the Brangwyn Mosaic there. Not much walking this month, just far to wet. Dawn is on a winter moorings at present, so I do not need to move her, just check she is ok every now and then. Back into the normal routine.

February
The month starts of with a supper massage from pip in Huddersfield, (it was a good day, it feels now as if it was only day the weather was good this month!) Then at the beginning of the month Richard brings Ivis and Henry up for a weekend and we go to our normal Tea place in Skipton on the first night. Then Richard drives all of us up into the Dales for the day, starting of near Bolton Abbey and ending up in Hawes for a late afternoon tea before coming home. The characteristics for the rest of the month is: snow, sleet and continuous rain. Otherwise it is not a bad month.

March
This month on one level is every one clearing up from the bad weather we have had so far this year. On the personal level it is meeting friends for coffee and a chat. Also the Tuesday group is in full swing with it's occasional lunch out, this month it is down by the canal near East Riddlesden Hall.

April
In this year of pestilance, which started with the rain and floods, we now have a plague and the Great Isolation thrust upon us! How long this will last for we do not know at present. So this month there are far fewer pictures, due to this. I still been doing a little shopping, walking down through Parkwood has been enjoyable. Then there has been the regular visits to Dawn, she does not mind me getting close, so that goes on. Even walked in to the park in Skipton. The computer that shows you these web pages fan started playing up. So my son recommended I paid it some attention and love, and give a spring clean! I did, but it was to late, the fan was already terminal, dying. So that had to be replaced, and I think we should be good for another 12 years?

May
Oh what a funny month! Forced to stay home, not go out and meet people - hasn't it been good, you feel you are not missing out on anything. Been to Skipton about once aweek to socialise with Dawn (sad when you have only a boat to be sociable with!), but went people watching, even tick tock watching when I got home? Been out for my first social occasion, but keeping ovcr 2 metres away from each other takes the shine of it.

June
We are told we can start to be more socialable this month? But the advisors are being far more cautious than the politicians. Lets see what happens. The period of isolation is slowly coming to an end this month, with more people travelling to work and nearly all shops opening. We will se if it is to early. 15th - Lost Phone! Week started well, but then lost my phone somewhere between home and Keighley. I feel lost, totally detached from the world! and no idea what to replace it with. John could lend me his old phone, but that would mean selling my soul to Google? HELP what to do? 19th - New Phone! feel more normal now, have an old fashion one, it just rings and you answer it, thats all it does. Thinking of getting a little tablet now.
