Using the tools of yoga to explore our responces to getting older.
Aims and objectives:
To introduce students to some of the issues around ageing. To explore ways to maximise a good quality of life as we grow older. To begin to explore our own ageing processes. To understand some of the yogic tools we have to deal with the challenge of growing older. To look at some of our attitudes to ageing.
The Course
The course will be structures as a workshop with plenty of time fir discussion and exercise around the subject of ageing. Using some of the principles from yoga philosophy, we will explore our responses to growing older in western society and how we can convince both ourselves and the wider society that we still have purposeful lives to lead and worthwhile contributions to make. Using the yogic tools of asana, prannayama, meditation and yogic nidra we will discover how they can support us and help us to see where we are, where we want to go and how this may be achieved.
