Going South for the Summer
Day 18, Wednesday 3rd August 2011 - Power sockets - Sue and Josh join before departure.
Swarkstone Junction - we moored up at a pub garden with power sockets for the evening.
Shardlow to Pub (Converted Farm - with Power sockets! just past Swarkstone) - Sue and Josh join
Load all the provisions on to the boat, and hide it away in different places. The fridge is bulging at the seams. Store Sue's cloths away. Josh always travels light. Most of the clean laundry comes back from Ivis's
So there is no reason to stay, we cast off into a pleasant after noon. After a while we spot a pub with mooring, and there is room for a few boats, so we pull in.
What is interesting is that it has power points? So we go and have a drink and enquire about them. Go and sit up stairs, try sitting on the balcony, but to breezy and to many flies, so we withdraw inside.
On getting back to the boat, Josh investigates the power point and decided there may be some power left on it's meter. We get the extension lead out, and plug in. It works, in fact we have power for the rest of the evening, all night and breakfast. Which is quite good as we cook by electricity and we ended up with fully charged batteries.
Notes on progress. Just a little bit! - Move up the canal back to Swarkston.
