Boats moored up near East Marston
East Marton is only a small hamlet near the banks of the canal. On the main road is a small pub that serves a good a drink, and where we have had a pleasant meal on occasions.
Nearer the canal there is a small cafe, open most days that serves drinks, sandwiches and a variety of light meals. It used to be a stop over place for monks in the old days of the monistrease.
Now adays it makes a nice stop over place with its shelter from the winds and a water point.
I came here when me and Sat had some time on the boat,
we enjoyed the piece and quite and eating out at the local hostery in 2007.
This is where we brought McRae when he came over from the states in 2010.
