Summer 2007 - Sat and Rob
East Marton on the way out to Foulridge.
East Marton is a charming little place for any one using the canal. The only draw back is the main road going over the double arch bridge. There are steps going up to the road at the bridge, but there is no footpath and you have to step straight out into the road in front of some very fast traffic.
East Marton has some nice aspects, the local church which can be found by going over the most westerly of the access bridges.
The double arched bridge is always of interest, the line of private moorings next to it, this always has at least some boats of interest.
Over the easterly access bridge you find some lovley cottages, with one of them offering B&B and nice meals during the day.
Following the road round to the top, brings you to the "Cross Keys" pub. the is always welcoming and has good drinks and good food, which I have sampled on several occasions.
These pictures were taken in the early afternoon of the Monday. Going to Foulridge.
