Address: 113 Gough Road, Edgbaston Birmingham.
When my parents started running the hostel in 1957, it was a brand new project, that had been just set up. I would have been about 6 years old, and my brother only 2. We had just moved down from the West Ridding of Yorkshire, from a more isolated area, a mile to our nearest neighboroughs, the sane as the distance to the city center in Birmingham. Personaly it felt like moving from one desert region to another, swapping rocky out-crops for man made out-crops of concrete and steel. All to be explored.
